Will the radio language course be aired in my country?
Deutsche Welle has been broadcasting part 1 since May 2005.
You can contact your local Goethe-Institut for up-to-date information.

What level will I achieve?
The radio language course conveys basic knowledge of the German language. However, it does not lead to Level A1 or A2. When using the work-book, Level A1 or A2 can be attained in the grammar section only.

Can I take an internationally recognized exam after the course?
The radio language course alone is not sufficient to reach the level necessary to pass our exams. To do so, you have to attend a course at your local Goethe-Institut, which will be glad to help you.

Will I get a certificate?
You do not get a certificate.

Can I continue learning German at the Goethe-Institut? At which level?
Of course you can continue studying at the Goethe-Institut. You would have to take an entry-level exam to ascertain the level that is best for you.

What accompanying material is there and where can I get it from?
Part 1 of the radio language course has an accompanying book, 2 audio CDs and a sheet with translated instructions in the required language. Part 2 is to have the same materials which should be available from mid-2007 onwards.

You can order the materials from the Goethe-Institut by writing to gimat@goethe.de
or
contact the publishing house Langenscheidt (accompanying book including English instructions).

Dual-language editions of the accompanying book:

German / Indonesian (for further information please contact the Goethe-Institut Jakarta)
